PERFORMING ARTS CAMP HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL SUMMER 2021
Adapted from the Tony Award-Winning best musical, Annie Jr. has captured the attention of audiences around the world! Children 8 – 14 years old can now join the cast of this captivating theatrical production by participating in the Performing Arts Camp. Performing Arts Camp focuses on the production of a show from rehearsal through to final performance, with costumes, lighting, and scenery.
Directed by renowned director Courtney Simson, participants will learn the nuances of performing arts and showcase their efforts at the end of the week for live audiences. Courtney founded the Truckee Community Theater. This school year, as Tahoe Expedition Academy Drama Instructor, Courtney, directed enthusiastic student actresses and actors in live, culminating musical and comedic performances of Disney’s the Lion King and Aladdin.
At Tahoe Summer Camps, Annie Jr. will feature elaborate costumes, props and set pieces that will bring the 1930’s New York City and its many characters to life. Participants are invited to tryout for lead roles, like that of Annie, Oliver Warbucks, Grace Farrell, Miss Hannigan, Rooster, Lily St. Regis, and the five lead orphans. While others will perform multiple key performance roles.
Campers will perform in musical numbers featuring beloved songs such as “Tomorrow”, “Hard Knock Life”, “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile”, “Easy Street”, “Little Girls”, and many more.
Participants will also create set pieces and learn how to apply colorful and inspired makeup.
Ages: Designed for girls and boys from 8 to 14 years old.

Days / Times: Due to COVID related healthy concerns this camp has been cancelled. Original 2020 dates were: June 22 – 26, 2020, 9am – 3pm daily.
Performance: Campers will showcase their work for family and friends in a live performance Saturday, June 27 at 7:00pm.
What to Bring: Lunch, snacks, and a water bottle.
Capacity: This camp is limited to 35 participants.
