Exploration and Creation
In the studio, campers will create drawings, paintings, clay works, charcoal artwork and more! Campers will return home daily; with a smile, art projects in hand and stories of engaging outdoor adventures – Like the time campers saw a black bear at Spooner Lake! Past camp projects have included; nature journaling, building wind chimes, dipping and twisting tie dye t-shirts, creating geocache treasure maps, pinching and pulling clay bowls, acrylic paintings with natural elements, watercolor drawings murals of favorite Sierra animals and more.
Camp adventures along Martis Valley trails and watersheds, hikes along high alpine single track and along lake shores will inspire artistic creativity and light a fire for exploration and build a fondness for the great outdoors. Past adventures include hikes along sweeping Donner Summit vistas, excursions to Emigrant Trail and other notable and less known Tahoe trails, and lunch along nearby lakes to beat the summer heat. Campers will draw inspiration from their outdoor trips to create nature artwork on the trail and in studio.
To ensure the best possible summer experiences, Art and Adventure Camps are instructed by professional educators and artists from Tahoe, Truckee, Reno and beyond. Summer ’24 will include new projects, guides and adventure trips into the field.
