Adventure and Design
Visual Arts + Exploration Camp is designed for campers 10 to 13 year olds. Like its predecessor Art and Adventure, this camp will take campers on adventure explorations into the pristine Tahoe backcountry in search of artistic inspiration and wonder.
In the studio, campers will create detailed works of art like; charcoal drawing, watercolor & acrylic paintings, and 3-D Art (like clay sculpture and upcycled crafts). Campers will develop skills and technique with traditional mediums as well as push their limits creatively with found objects and innovative tools.
To ensure the best possible summer experience, Tahoe Summer Camps art offerings are instructed by professional art teachers and uber-skilled, local-professional artists.
Camp adventures along Martis Valley and Tahoe National Forest trails and watersheds, hikes along high alpine single track and along lake shores will inspire artistic creativity and light a fire for exploration. Campers will use this inspiration to create works of art both in the studio and outdoors.
Camp Details
Ages: Designed for campers 10 to 13 years old.
Gender: Girls and Boys.
Days / Times: Monday thru Friday, 9:00am – 3:00pm daily.
Where: Participants will meet each morning at Tahoe Expedition Academy’s 42 acre Martis Valley campus, located at 9765 Shaffer Mill Rd. Truckee, CA 96161
What to Bring: Backpack, sunscreen applied, lunch & snacks, sunglasses, water bottle, closed toed shoes, and hat.
Final Products: Campers will create art pieces throughout their week of camp.
Capacity: Visual Arts and Exploration is limited to 16 participants.
